If something is wrong with the filesystem, everything on the mac will be impacted and annoyingly slow.another reason why the GPU performance on a system can be horrible can also be a result of other apps touching GPU resources - something most non-nerdy tech people won't get easly. Raw files a still too small and needs too much processing that some small drive performance difference would do anything.Slider performance issues are so special that only some GPU stuff can be the reason.
Performance issues in C1 and Lr are, until a drive is broken or completely filled, never a drive issue.
